At Honor Humanity, we believe wellness begins with what we plant, in the ground and in each other. That’s why we created Plant with a Player, an initiative that goes beyond gardens to plant possibility in under-resourced neighborhoods across the country.
Many of the world’s most inspiring athletes come from places where grocery stores are few, but heroes are many. Plant with a Player invites those heroes to return home, roll up their sleeves, and invest in the communities that raised them.
Yes, we plant food gardens.
But we also plant football practice fields, basketball courts, swimming lessons, dance classes, tree-lined blocks, obstacle courses, and more.
Because wellness isn’t just physical, it’s communal. And thriving communities need more than produce, they need places to move, spaces to belong, and people to believe.
Every Community Activation Day brings professional athletes into the heart of the neighborhood to dig, share, sweat, and plant roots, literally and figuratively. From revitalized garden beds to wellness installations and fitness zones, each event is designed to nourish both body and spirit.
Our gardens provide fresh fruits, vegetables, and plant-based proteins that fuel after-school programs like Good on the Go, which delivers healthy, non-meat-based snack options for growing kids. But the work doesn’t stop at harvest. Gardens double as classrooms, fitness hubs, and safe spaces where youth and families can gather, learn, and thrive.
Through nutrition education, movement classes, and athlete mentorship, we’re reimagining what it means to serve, from the field to the farm.
Athletes can sponsor long-term installations through our Honor Humanity Outreach System, ensuring communities have continued access to the tools, trainers, and resources they need to grow well and grow together.
Plant with a Player is not just about food. It’s about planting roots for things to grow, humans included.
